ABS Injection Molded Parts

Release Date: Sep 19, 2026

ABS injection molded parts are plastic components produced by taking ABS (Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene) ternary copolymer as the core raw material through professional injection molding process. As one of the most widely used general engineering plastics in the global manufacturing industry, ABS material integrates the advantages of three monomers: acrylonitrile provides high hardness, heat resistance, and chemical corrosion resistance; butadiene endows the material with excellent toughness, impact resistance, and low-temperature resistance; styrene ensures good molding fluidity, surface smoothness, and dimensional stability. The complementary performance of the three components makes ABS injection molded parts have balanced mechanical properties, excellent processing performance, and high cost performance, which are widely used in household appliances, electronic equipment, automotive parts, daily necessities, industrial equipment, and architectural decoration fields, and are known as the "universal plastic structural parts" of the manufacturing industry.

The core performance advantages of ABS injection molded parts are reflected in mechanical properties, environmental adaptability, and processing plasticity. In terms of mechanical properties, ABS parts have high tensile strength, bending strength, and impact toughness, and can resist external impact, extrusion, and vibration damage. Even in low-temperature environments, they will not become brittle and crack, maintaining stable structural integrity. Compared with ordinary PP and PE plastic parts, ABS products have higher hardness and rigidity, not easy to deform, and can bear certain structural load, meeting the structural support needs of most industrial and civil products. In terms of environmental adaptability, ABS materials have good heat resistance and cold resistance, with a long-term use temperature range of -40°C to 90°C, adapting to most indoor and outdoor conventional working environments. At the same time, they have excellent chemical stability, resisting corrosion of daily chemicals such as dilute acid, dilute alkali, salt solution, and cleaning agents, and will not dissolve, crack, or deform in conventional chemical environments.

In terms of processing performance, ABS is the most friendly material for injection molding processing among engineering plastics. It has low melt viscosity, good fluidity, and fast molding cooling speed, which can adapt to complex structural molding and high-speed mass production. ABS injection molded products have smooth and flat surfaces, no obvious molding lines, easy to carry out secondary surface processing such as painting, silk screen printing, electroplating, frosting, and bonding, which can realize diversified surface effects and personalized appearance design. In addition, ABS materials have good dimensional stability, small shrinkage rate after molding, low warpage and deformation probability of finished products, and high assembly precision, which can well meet the matching and assembly requirements of precision structural parts. Compared with high-performance engineering plastics such as PC and PA, ABS has lower raw material cost and higher molding yield, with extremely high cost performance in medium and low-end structural part manufacturing.

With the continuous upgrading of industry requirements, modified ABS injection molded parts have been derived to meet special application scenarios, including flame-retardant ABS, high-temperature resistant ABS, low-temperature resistant ABS, high-gloss ABS, and anti-static ABS. Flame-retardant ABS is added with environment-friendly flame retardants, reaching UL94 V0 flame retardant grade, which can effectively prevent flame spread and is widely used in electronic and electrical equipment shells that require fire prevention and safety. High-temperature resistant ABS improves the thermal deformation temperature of the material, adapting to high-temperature working environments such as automotive engine peripheral parts and high-power electrical equipment. Low-temperature resistant ABS enhances the low-temperature toughness of the material, avoiding brittle cracking in cold northern regions and low-temperature industrial environments. High-gloss ABS products have mirror-level smooth surfaces, which are widely used in high-end household appliance shells and consumer electronic appearance parts to improve product appearance grade. Anti-static ABS can eliminate surface static electricity, prevent dust adsorption and static discharge damage, and is suitable for electronic workshop equipment and precision instrument shells.

The application scope of ABS injection molded parts covers almost all civil and industrial manufacturing fields. In the household appliance industry, they are used in the shells and internal structural parts of televisions, air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, water heaters, and small household appliances such as electric kettles and hair dryers, relying on beautiful appearance and stable structural performance to meet household use needs. In the consumer electronics industry, ABS parts are applied to computer casings, monitor shells, printer accessories, and audio equipment structural parts, balancing lightweight and structural stability. In the automotive industry, they are used in automobile interior parts such as instrument panels, door panels, glove boxes, and ceiling accessories, as well as some exterior decorative parts, reducing vehicle weight while ensuring collision resistance. In the industrial field, ABS injection molded parts are used in equipment housings, instrument shells, industrial control boxes, and pipeline accessories, providing stable structural protection for industrial equipment. In daily life, they are also widely used in luggage shells, stationery, toy parts, and bathroom accessories, with rich application scenarios and strong market universality.

In terms of production quality control, the production process of ABS injection molded parts strictly follows industrial injection molding specifications. From raw material drying, melt plasticization, high-pressure injection, pressure holding cooling to post-processing trimming, each link has precise parameter control to avoid common defects such as material shortage, shrinkage, bubble, warpage, and color difference. For products used in electronic and electrical and automotive fields, strict performance tests such as impact test, high and low temperature cycle test, and aging test are carried out to ensure long-term stable use of products. With the development of lightweight and personalized manufacturing in the manufacturing industry, ABS injection molded parts are constantly optimized in material modification and process innovation, and still maintain an irreplaceable core position in the field of medium and low-end plastic structural parts.
